Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Refuge account and all of your data at any time. This action cannot be undone.

From inside the app (recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is from within the app:

1. Open Refuge and sign in.
2. Tap the gear icon in the top right of the Today tab.
3. Tap Profile.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
5. Confirm and re-authenticate when prompted.

Your account and all associated data are removed immediately and permanently purged from our systems within 30 days.

If you can't open the app

If you've lost access to your device or the app won't launch, email us from the address associated with your Refuge account:

Use the subject line "Account deletion request" and include the email address on your account. We'll confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

For your protection, we can only act on requests sent from the email address registered to the account. If you signed up with Apple or Google, send the request from the email tied to that sign-in provider.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed:

• Mood and wellness entries (including journal text, categories, medications, and toggles)
• AI analyses and guide conversations
• Subscription records held by Refuge (billing records held by Apple or Google are governed by their policies)
• Encryption keys and any cloud-wrapped key material
• Profile data, preferences, and notification settings
• Health data that you previously stored as part of an entry

Anonymous, aggregated analytics that cannot be tied back to you may be retained. Health data still stored in Apple Health or Health Connect is unaffected and remains in those systems unless you remove it there.

Cancelling a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by Refuge. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To cancel:

iPhone/iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Refuge → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Refuge → Cancel.

Just want to clear your data?

If you'd rather erase your entries while keeping your account, open Settings → Advanced → Delete all my data inside the app. This wipes every entry, analysis, and conversation but leaves your account intact so you can start fresh.
